The intent of this memo is to fulfill our duty to our membership to inform.
As a result of disciplinary action that has affected some of our members, your union has discovered some concerning information regarding CAFÉ. Management has utilized faculty behaviors, attendance and performance at CAFÉ as a tool for discipline.
Your actions at CAFÉ may be reported to management. There is no guarantee of confidentiality regarding your work there.
In addition, Article 11.01 H 3 states that ten working days of PD are allowed to each teacher and “The arrangements for such professional development shall be made following discussion between the supervisor and the teacher subject to agreement between the supervisor and the teacher, and such agreement shall not be unreasonably withheld.” In other words, all faculty have the right to request PD through a variety of means such as other educational institutions.
