Local 354 Support for Student Association

As most of you are aware, there is a conflict occurring between the DC/UOIT Student Association (SA) and Durham college management. This conflict is quite complex and it is not the intention of our Union to become involved in the dispute.  After speaking with the several of the leaders of the SA, it does seem appropriate to support the SA, in the following manner.

At the January 13, 2014, LEC meeting, the LEC unanimously passed the following motion.

“That Local 345 support the autonomy of the SA of Durham College and UOIT. “

Our members should not be facilitating managements’ attempt to undermine this autonomy.
