Resources for understanding the bargaining process and how we got here

Message from Local 354 President Kevin Griffin

Hello Members,

This is a very challenging time for members as we are faced with a difficult bargaining process again on the heels of a 2017 strike.  We, as your local, are doing our best to share with you with all of the information that has been made available to us by various sources.  Below is a link from the president of Local 110 at Fanshawe College.  He has been in that position for a very long time and has been on the negotiating team as well.  He has laid out in simple terms where we stand in regards to bargaining at this moment in time.  We wanted to share this with you as it may answer some of the questions you have about the process and next steps.

Watch the video here.

The information I have is that the pending strike vote will take approximately three weeks to organize, so it will be the end of the semester before we know the outcome.  As you know, we have members of the bargaining team attending our GMM this evening (Nov. 25th at 6:30 p.m.) to answer questions and to update members.  If you have a question for the team please feel free to attend our GMM and ask it or if you are unable you can send it to myself and I will ask for you.

In solidarity,

Kevin Griffin
