September Faculty Parking Concerns

In early September, many Faculty approached their Union reps to share concerns regarding parking. As a result, we circulated a Survey Monkey. The response was enormous: over 160 Faculty replied.

It was immediately apparent that a number of concerns are widely shared. First, the date for renewal is in July, when most full-time Faculty are away on holidays. Secondly, there was no e-mail notice sent out to Faculty regarding renewal. Only a small notice appeared on ICE, and very few Faculty saw it. Third, many Faculty were forced to re-locate to a different parking lot. Fourth, with Payroll Deduction for parking, some Members felt an automatic roll-over would be a good idea.

Your Local Union reps took these concerns to management on Friday, September 25. Management thanked us for this information and promised to contact Parking administration to investigate possible improvements to the current set-up.
