WIN: OPEN HOUSE NOW ON YOUR SWF

Our Collective Agreement does NOT allow for management to expect us to do volunteer work. ALL work that you do should be noted on your SWF.
If you will be attending the next Open House, then on your fall, 2015, SWF, you should see this work noted on your SWF with time allotted specifically referring to Open House.
This accomplishment is a direct result of the hard work done by Nicole Zwiers and Peter Hupka in particular, and supported by other courageous Durham faculty members who were attending Open House in past years but felt that it was work and should be considered as such. This change was accomplished by your Union WMG members over the course of more than a full year; they stood up for the principle of all work being recognized on your SWF. We do appreciate management’s agreement, in good faith, to agree to this change after our long period of discussion and negotiation.
Our current WMG reps are Peter Hupka (Co-Chair), Nicole Zwiers, Dave Smith, and Sue Dickinson. Please contact any of these four Union reps or your school’s Steward at any time if you have questions or concerns regarding your workload.
